BROOKVILLE
Most of the grand estates that characterized Brookville during the Gold Coast Era are now part of history, but, aided by zoning rules that require properties to be a minimum of two acres, the Village retains its sprawling, bucolic character. Brookville extends northward to Northern Boulevard, where Long Island University established its C.W. Post campus after purchasing cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post’s grand estate in 1951. The campus’s Tilles Center for the Performing Arts offers concerts and other events. The Village maintains the 22-acre Brookville Nature Park, and there is shopping in nearby Greenvale with the upscale Wheatley Plaza featuring chic stores and delicious restaurants.

OLD BROOKVILLE
Gracious homes on sprawling estates with wooden-post fences line the country lanes of Old Brookville, known as one of the most exclusive areas in the nation. A feeling of understated elegance permeates the residential Village, which has enjoyed a long equestrian history with several barns and stables offering riding lessons and boarding, and some of Long Island’s finest and most handsome golf clubs. UPPER BROOKVILLE
A lovely residential community with 2-acre and 5-acre zoning, the Village of Upper Brookville boasts 24% open space including 42-acres managed by the North Shore Land Alliance, and the extraordinary 409-acre Planting Fields Arboretum and Historic State Park, formerly the home of William Robert Coe, insurance and railroad executive during America’s Gilded Age. The Village was also the home of Hope Goddard Iselin, the first woman to crew in an America’s Cup race in 1903. Iselin opposed the original Village name “Lower Brookville” saying “I refuse to live in lower anything” and thus the Village became Upper Brookville. The scenic landscapes and stunning homes in the Village have provided backdrops for film and television productions from Boardwalk Empire to The Wolf of Wall Street and more.
